Inaugural drilling expected to commence before year-end at Santa Cruz gold and silver project

Australia’s Battery Age Minerals is finalising an integrated 3D geological model and drill design in preparation for commencing an inaugural drilling programme at its El Águila gold and silver project in Argentina.

Following positive results from a recently completed soil sampling programme, together with an induced polarisation (IP) and magnetic survey, the company intends to commence its initial campaign at El Águila before the end of the year.

The IP survey identified a number of drill targets that coincide with rock chip assays of up to 174.6 grams per tonne gold and 4,739 g/t silver, as well as drill intersections including 0.55 m at 40.55 g/t gold and 7.0 m at 2.48 g/t gold.

The upcoming programme will also seek to follow up on multiple kilometre-scale gold and silver anomalies that returned results of up to 134 parts per billion gold and 35.6 parts per million silver.

‘The scale and resolution of our recent field programmes at El Águila have transformed our understanding of the mineral system,’ said Chief Executive Nigel Broomham.

“The combination of modern geophysics, detailed mapping and high-density soil sampling has validated and expanded our target base, particularly around El Águila Principal, Sur, and the wider structural corridors.

The company believes that the new datasets not only reduce the risk of the next phase of exploration, but have also increased its portfolio of targets, and it anticipates commencing drilling at El Águila once permit approval has been finalised.

Broomham said recent work programmes yielded encouraging geochemical responses with elevated levels of gold, silver and pioneer elements supported by coincident geophysical trends, while defining three new targets and extensions of untested mineralised trends at Aguila Main and San Cristóbal.

Inaugural Drilling Expected To Commence Before Year-End At Santa Cruz Gold And Silver Project

The company will prioritise inaugural drill targets at Profundo, Aguila South Central, Aguila Main East Extension, Verbena and the Lagoon anomalies.

Battery Age has completed environmental baseline studies, along with an environmental impact assessment, while awaiting approval to drill.

Previous exploration, including trenching, channel sampling and drilling, has revealed multiple high-grade gold and silver zones with significant potential for expansion at depth. BM8 plans to continue this work with detailed geological mapping, 3D modelling, trenching and geophysical surveys, culminating in an initial drilling programme.

With its high-grade potential, strategic location and experienced exploration team, El Águila represents a transformative growth opportunity for Battery Age Minerals.
