Aitana Soriano travelled to Egypt and showed on TikTok what is really inside the pyramids: extreme heat, narrow corridors and an experience very different from what she imagined.
The pyramids of Egypt have fascinated travellers from all over the world for centuries. Their architectural majesty and the mystery surrounding them have made these monuments a dream destination. But what many people don’t see on social media is the reality behind the perfect shot.
Early detection can slow down hearing loss
Spanish influencer Aitana Soriano travelled to Egypt this summer and shared her experience of entering one of the pyramids on TikTok. What she found inside was far from what she had imagined as a child. ‘I always thought there would be rooms, passageways and secret things. Nothing could be further from the truth,’ she confesses.
To access the interior, visitors must queue and descend a very low staircase, forcing them to move forward crouching down. ‘My mother bumped her head on the ceiling two or three times,’ says Aitana. Once inside, the heat is suffocating. ‘They ask you if you have a headache or knee pain before you go in,’ she warns, as the humidity and temperature can be extreme.
After descending several steps, you reach a small room where the tomb is located. ‘You could also call it a sauna, because the humidity is mind-boggling,’ she says with a laugh. The space is so small that it surprises you, contrary to what you would expect: ‘I imagined something much bigger.’
Despite everything, Aitana says it was an incredible experience. Her video has generated thousands of reactions, showing that the magic of the pyramids is still alive, even if reality does not always match the fantasy sold by social media.
