Diffuser

With items and ingredients you have at home, learn how to make a homemade diffuser with an old perfume bottle.

Using just two ingredients, create a homemade diffuser in a few simple steps.

When we want our home to smell nice, we use various techniques and products such as perfumes, sprays, incense, etc.

However, one of the best options for giving our rooms a pleasant aroma is a diffuser. That’s why in the following article we’ll teach you how to make one at home in a matter of minutes.

How to create a homemade diffuser using a perfume bottle?

In a glass bottle (it can be an old, empty perfume bottle), place the following mixture:

  • 70% grain alcohol
  • 30% aromatic essence (you can combine two essences or use the one you like best; remember that it only takes a couple of drops)

Once you have placed these ingredients in the perfume bottle, leave the mixture to macerate for at least 15 to 20 days in a dark place so that the aroma of the essences can settle. In addition, by leaving it to macerate for so many days, the aroma will last longer.

After 15 or 20 days, place some bamboo or rattan sticks in the glass bottle (the latter are better at diffusing the aromas, but they are much more expensive), move them around a little and turn them over two or three times a week so that the perfume feels stronger in the wet part.

We recommend using bamboo or rattan sticks in the diffuser.

How can you remove the perfume mark from the glass bottle?

If your perfume bottle has any markings, such as your name, you can remove them with a little white vinegar.

Simply immerse the perfume bottle (or at least the part that is painted) in a glass or container with white vinegar. Leave it to soak for at least 15 minutes, then scrub the entire bottle with a steel wool pad. You will need to scrub a little, but you will notice that the paint comes off quickly.
